Dinosaur Skeleton Unearthed North of Brooks Sends to Drumheller

A 4.5 ton juvenile Daspletosaurus skeleton was recovered from Dinosaur Provincial Park northeast of Brooks after a long, grueling extraction in the hot badlands. The plaster jacketed remains were loaded onto a trailer and transported to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller for restoration and display.

Life sentences likely in toddler's sex-slaying

Canadian Press Calgary reports Utah prosecutors plan to seek natural life for Ferosa Bluff and Andrew Fedorowicz, convicted of murdering Bluff's three year old daughter Rebecca. They face possible consecutive terms including five to 15 years for two sexual and physical abuse convictions, with Judge Dennis Frederick to determine exact length. Alberta-born Rebecca was found dead October 21 in Salt Lake City.
