Liberal leader J Har Prowse pressed Premier Manning in the Alberta Legislature to rethink blocking Calgary Herald and Edmonton Journal from Manning’s recent press conferences. In Coleville Saskatchewan two men were shot to death and a woman critically wounded in a dawn incident. Police say a 12 gauge shotgun was used in a case termed murder and death by own action. John Byron Abraham was identified among the dead, his wife Mildred injured in the shoulder. A second man, a 30-year-old oil refinery laborer, was also killed. an inquest is set for next Tuesday.
Jensen Utah AP report describes a sandstone bluff near Dinosaur National Monument seven miles north of Jensen where scientists plan to chisel away rock to reveal prehistoric skeletons. It notes dinosaurs up to 80 feet long weighed 40 tons with small brains and outlines the area's fossil history from 1909 onward.

Police tracked him to Mexico City and he was brought back for sentencing.
A police report clarifies the disappearance of a caragana hedge in front of a motel on Third Street S.E. The owner is notified to replace the hedge or the city may install steel posts to block the entrance, claiming the access was unauthorized. The hedge was delivered to the parks department, addressed to Ald. Ernie Heald who denies knowledge of the action.
