Gas Derrick Fire Destroys Rig Near New Dayton
A gas derrick seven miles south of New Dayton owned by Canadian Natural Gas, Heat, Light and Power burned last night around 7 o clock. Most equipment is a total loss and operations may resume in one to two months. A gas pocket at 385 feet was found and drilling continued beyond 400 feet when a fire started, likely from a hot circuit in the lighting system. No injuries reported.
