In Parry Sound area on August 18 a mail train robbery left farmer Jackson dead and two men wounded as residents pursued three bandits. One robber captured with $1500 on him. others escaped into the bush after stealing a car and being pursued by Lyman, Laird brothers, and Harold Roland. Police and Railway Mail Service investigate the incident.
