Mischievous monk jailed for temple theft in Shanghai
A 22 year old Buddhist monk Huang Genggu expelled from a Shanghai temple for drinking and brawling was jailed after stealing offerings. He broke into the temple in May and took several thousand yuan from locked boxes then confessed to stealing an additional 1300 yuan earlier. He was arrested with 500 yuan on him. He had trained at a Buddhism school since 1992 in Pudong district.
