Entire Mining Town Moves Location Near Lynn Lake

Sherridon Manitoba, a copper and zinc town 60 miles northeast of Flin Flon, will cease operation September 1 as the Sherritt-Gordon mine closes. Forty houses will be moved 150 miles north to Lynn Lake, where a new nickel discovery spurs a future town. A 155 mile railroad extension, costing 14.7 million, is under way to connect Sherridon with Lynn Lake, slated for completion by Navy 1953.

Fleeing Slovak Shot By Border Guards Near HOF
