Police in North Bay Ontario conduct a house to house search for Donald Kelly after a gunman took 11 campers hostage for 15 hours at McConnell Lake. A car stolen from a hostage was found and a photo of the gunman obtained. A Calgary sighting adds to possible Kelly location as Edmonton police suspect travel toward the west.
In Edmonton the Purnell inquiry concluded after final arguments with Dr. Glen Purnell’s lawyer condemning an adversarial tone in the proceedings. Commission counsel defended the search for truth as the judge prepared a rapid report for the provincial government.
