Citywide twine supply dwindles to about thirty pounds available today. Farmers in Medicine Hat district face hauling, binding and fencing delays as shortages affect crop and livestock chores. Local merchants report limited reorders and rising prices amid the famine of essential farm materials.
Inquiries show 70 000 lbs of binder twine arrived locally this season with 16 000 lbs sent elsewhere leaving 54 000 lbs for Medicine Hat district enough to bind about 27 000 acres. Farmers ponder whether to cut without twine or wait for shipments as dealers warn of uncertain reorders.

Washington Democrats agreed to caucus, recede from the no battleship plan, and permit one battleship vote in the House. The measure passed 96 to 11 with no bitterness, and the Senate is expected to approve, ending the stalemate over the Naval bill.
The death of William B. MacMaster United States vice consul at Cartagena is ruled a murder. The body was found near Cartagena during a hunting trip with no clues to the killer. No further details or suspects are available at this time.
