BC murder suspects Schmegelsky and McLeod die by self shot
British Columbia homicide suspects Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod were found dead in the Manitoba wilderness after a manhunt across Western Canada. Police say evidence points to self-inflicted gunfire and that the two had been alive for several days during the search. Autopsies by Manitoba medical examiner confirmed the deaths, with two firearms recovered at the scene. The pair had been charged in the murder of Leonard Dyck and were considered suspects in the deaths of Chynna Deese and Lucas Fowler. Investigators will review Manitoba items alongside prior northern B C homicide findings to clarify the sequence of events.
