Washington Ang the final casualty reports from the central records office of the American Expeditionary Forces in France were released by the War Department. Total battle deaths are 48 198 total wounded 205 690 and prisoners 4 480. Missing names reduced to 127 from 264 000 for France 121 000 for England. The army had reported 148 439 disabled cases to the War Risk Insurance Bureau and the final total is expected near 200 000.

Fire destroys home of G Beattie near Alderson
