Lost Four Days Youth Found Safe
A 16 year old boy missing since Friday night in dense timber near Whitecourt Alberta was found Monday wandering onto an isolated oil road. James Walters was picked up by Roy Kittridge an oil truck driver about 40 miles from the Carson Creek oil camp where he vanished while fetching water. RCMP said he was in good condition after his ordeal. A search with two RCAF planes an RCMP dog and 25 police and woodsmen began Saturday. Whitecourt is 85 miles northwest of Edmonton.

Lightning Kills Man and Daughter in Calgary Yard
A 43 year old man Michael McCallion and his 3 year old daughter Patricia were struck dead by lightning as they hurried across a Calgary school yard during a brief rain hail storm. Two teenage pupils found the bodies moments later. Patricia had been in outdoor summer school with 30 students supervised by Miss Diana White. Resuscitation failed. The strike left hair burned from the girl and a burned strip on the man’s shirt.
