Young Frenchman Lost on Prairie

The R N W M S P reports a 22 year old Frenchman Joseph Rodier from Maple Creek district is missing after leaving to ride to ranches. He rode a black branded S5 stallion, 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a prey cap black coat and overalls. Police search has lasted ten days with no trace.

Roped Wolf on Walker Ranch Sees Two Ranch Hands Catch Huntsman

Edmond O Mckey and A L Fitch roped a wolf on Addison Walker’s ranch between the Twelve and Thirty mile Sand Hills, seventy miles northeast of the Hat. After four miles of riding, McKay looped the front feet and Fitch secured the head, delivering a decisive end to a troublesome raid. The feat elevates the pair among a handful able to rope wolves in the district.

Zahnizer’s Wheat Field Yields Huge Crops in Iowa

M A Zahlizer began cutting a 200 acre field of spring wheat and reports unprecedented yields in forty years of farming. Dozens visit daily to view the crop which he estimates averaging 30 to 345 bushels per acre. It is described as a magnificent sight.

Medicine Hat Tigers return to city after strong Eastern tour

The Medicine Hat ball team comes back to town with a 704 percentage, just 47 runs shy of leading the league. In Winnipeg they lost four games three by one run, earning praise as their stout, classy play. Tonight they meet Winnipeg at Maple Creek with two games at 2.30 and 6.00. Winnipeg also hosts Medicine Hat Saturday, with Brandon visiting Monday and a season closer August 26. The team plans further travel to Western cities and expects record attendance in Winnipeg.

Stock Shipments Reported For Early August

Stock inspector Mr J H G Bray lists shipments of horses and cattle on August 5 to 9. Cattle sent by C E Cooper and others include 28 didibu tary cattle and 124 beef cattle to H hogee D Hepburn. Horses total 9 to Battleford and 22 to AFR I. Additional shipments include 8 horses to Balord and 62 cattle to Argent Deer Creek and 87 beef cattle to Hochelage.

Change in Business Firms in City

Mr George Fischer, who arrived about a year ago from Owen Sound Ontario, purchases the Home Goods Store stock and plans a clearing sale before moving to larger premises to offer a broader variety of goods. He toured the West including Medicine Hat and aims to build substantial trade locally while guaranteeing customer satisfaction. Curtis Hollinger will close out the Bristah stock immediately and then shift to farming and real estate.
