Libyan planes tanks and troops overwhelmed Chadian defenders in a six hour battle at Faya-Largeau. Western sources report government resistance ended as rebels and Libyans pursued a rout, with 2 000 Libyan troops and 3 000 rebels involved against about 2 500 government troops.
