President Idi Amin announced a decree revoking entry permits and residence certificates held by Asians of foreign nationality. About 23 000 claim Ugandan citizenship must report within five weeks. total affected estimated around 60 000 including British Indian Pakistani and Bangladesh nationals. Some non citizen Asians such as professionals and enterprise owners are exempt.
