Yeggmen broke into the real estate office of H A Freeman on Eighth Avenue in Calgary last night. The safe was cracked and the office staff found papers and books scattered this morning. The cash box was rifled but the loss amount is not yet known.

American duel leaves student dying in Berlin

In Berlin on Aug 6 a student named Weilis died after an American duel with a rival suitor for the same girl. The rivals agreed to shoot themselves after the girl greeted one of them first. Weilis fired twice, while the other student watched.

Roux Denies Cholera Serotype Discovery Report

Paris August 6 Dr. Roux head of the Pasteur Institute denies a story that he discovered an anti cholera serum. He confirms messages about Pottevin and Vielle showing intestinal cholera transmission to inferior apes but calls the result interesting yet not deeply important and says he is not pursuing cholera work.

Farm Help Arrangements For Alberta Harvest Support

Spreading labor strike reaches Duluth docks

Laborers at Allouise docks in Superior move to Duluth Missabe and Northern docks as night shifts quit. About four to six hundred men participate. Train Robbery on Louisville and Nashville Mail Train

Two armed men boarded the No. 4 northbound mail train from New Orleans at Calera and robbed the mail car. Clerks Geayre Hoover and J. G. York were bound with twine, fired upon, and left bound as the robbers fled near Birmingham. Police sought the suspects across the city.
