Developers shocked as Burnside plan is blocked by city
Hill Developers and Hat Development claim the 500 acre Burnside site south of the Trans-Canada Highway was excluded from the citys 15 year growth plan without explanation. They say they worked 18 months with RPC and city officials on a residential scheme including park land and housing for all income levels. The company offers park land or cash reimbursement but says city officials refused any negotiation and shifted Burnside to a non development status.
