Styrene leak prompts Irvine evacuation after derailment
CP Rail reopened a rail line near Irvine around 11 a.m. Saturday after a Friday derailment. About 200 people checked into the Cypress County office and 75 stayed at Red Cross overnight as residents within a six kilometre radius were evacuated due to an eight litre styrene leak. Crews worked through Friday night and Saturday morning to untangle cars and restore the line.
