Irrigation Ditch To Benefit 10
A new two and a half mile irrigation ditch near Irvine is nearly finished and will tap an unused water source. It will transfer Elkwater Lake spring run-off to Cavan Lake for summer distribution to the Ross Irrigation District farms. Leonard Anderson notes Elkwater Lake sometimes runs over into July, improving supply. Farmers paid per acre to join and maintenance fees. the project is largely government-installed.

Medicine Hat businessman Litman Gibbs died August 1 in Medicine Hat at 53. No inquest was announced by acting coroner Dr. R F Fairbairn. Funeral service led by Rabbi E Klein at Sons of Abraham Synagogue. Interment in Hillside Cemetery. Survived by wife Sylvia two daughters Roselyn and Leita a sister and a brother. Predeceased by son Allan in 1957.

Man Pays Fine With 2900 Pennies Test of Currency Law
