Accident inquest opens near Piapot on Trans-Canada
An inquest into a fatal car crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Piapot opens today. Coroner Glenn Rowley says identification of the deceased is challenging, with the vehicle rolling onto the victim in a ditch after 3 15 p m Tuesday. Cody William Cyr, 17, of Williams Lake B C, is in Medicine Hat hospital with head internal and leg injuries and cannot yet speak to police. Rowley says his office is 90 percent sure of the deceased identity.
