Edmonton August reports from the Department of Agriculture say wheat cutting will be fairly general across Alberta by August 20. Harvesting of fall wheat has begun in southern districts with satisfactory yields, while oats, barley, and rye crops show strong stands and general harvests are expected in late August. Weather, hail damage limited, alfalfa and sugar beets progressing, pastures excellent and livestock in good condition.

Mounted Constable Dies in Accidental Shooting on Northern Patrol
Ottawa reports Constable W R Stephens of Dundas Harbor died from an accidental self shot during a hunting expedition on Aug 26 1927. Inspector Joy found no inquest needed.
