Cook Refuses To Name Aides In Escape Case
Edmonton CP reports Robert Raymond Cook 22, a mass murder suspect, refuses to name two men who helped him escape Ponoka Mental Hospital on July 10. RCMP say they suspect outside help, but have little chance of finding the helpers. Cook blamed a wrench and a stolen car supplied by two outside men for the getaway and was recaptured four days later at Fort Saskatchewan jail. He faces murder charges for the Stettler family killings.
