Canada Revenue Agency fails to craft new underground economy strategy
After a three year effort the Canada Revenue Agency has not produced a new national plan to target the underground economy. Provinces led by Ontario and British Columbia pressed for an update as cash-register zapper tech obscures sales. In 2011 12 the CRA conducted nearly 11 000 audits revealing over 300 million dollars in unpaid taxes. Internal notes show the updated strategy remains elusive.
