Methanex plans major Geismar plant expansion in Louisiana
Methanex CEO John Floren announced on a first quarter call that land has been bought beside the Louisiana facility for a large methanol plant expansion at Geismar near the Mississippi River. He noted U S tax exemptions were accepted and a final decision on the Geismar plant could come in mid 2019. Floren also flagged ongoing consideration of a Medicine Hat project if a partner is found.
