Artificial heart surgery sparks brain damage fears
A 5 year old patient with a partial artificial heart may have brain damage after a six hour operation at Methodist Hospital in Houston. Doctors, led by Dr Michael DeBakey, reported the device is doing its job and could, with improvements, allow the patient's heart to take over within days.
