City proposes mill rate increases to fund services
Property owners may face an average $60 to $68 tax hike this year if the proposed mill rates pass. Single family homes could rise 3.25 percent based on assessed value while multi family or farm land owners could see a 5.01 percent increase. non residential/business rates would drop 0.77 percent. In the Humboldt Broncos bus crash 15 people died and 14 were injured. Dayna Brons, a 25 year old trainer from Lake Lenore, remains in critical condition after two surgeries and induced coma with a breathing apparatus. The collision occurred north of Tisdale involving a peat moss truck. the truck driver survived. Alberta Transportation ordered the trucking company to keep one other vehicle off the road.
