Equipment stolen from Dunmore home under construction

A break and enter at a Dunmore residence under construction led to over $5,000 in gear missing from a garage including a new air conditioner paint sprayer and texture machines. Alberta Legislature to stream afternoon sessions online

Albertans can watch the Legislative Assembly of Alberta proceedings on the assembly website from 1 p.m. to about 2:30 p.m. on each sitting day. The televised broadcast began March 15, 1972, with Oral Question Period webcast starting November 2003, and now covers the full afternoon session via www.assembly.ab.ca. Two explosions in Casablanca injure a woman as police close in on suspects.

CN Rail conductors reject tentative deal, plan protests

Canadian National Railway conductors and yard workers voted to reject a tentative agreement. Of 2,317 ballots, 1,553 opposed the deal, 402 supported. Voter turnout 83.8 percent. Workers planned to return to picket lines in Vancouver and Kamloops, with other cities to join on a rotating basis. In related news, a 2002 U S heifer from a Canadian herd linked to a mad cow case was slaughtered in Nebraska after showing no signs of BSE.

Record land sales continue in Saskatchewan in April

Saskatchewan posted its second highest Crown petroleum and natural gas rights sale this April with $70.2 million in revenue. The all time high $84.8 million was set in October 1994. The sale included nine exploration licenses above $39 million and 176 lease parcels totaling $31.2 million. Weyburn Estevan area led activity with $67.1 million in sales.
