Gasoline prices fall across Canada as crude slips

Canadians see cheaper fills as world crude hits five month low. Regular gas averages 70.3 cents a litre with many cities below that. The Canadian Automobile Association expects further declines of about eight cents per litre over the coming months if crude prices stay low.

Lions kill boy at Brazilian circus

Five circus lions killed a six year old boy after a lion snatched him from his father and dragged him into a cage as spectators watched. Police wounded two others as they fired on the cage to drive off the animals, recovering the body after more than four hours. Investigators say the circus breached safety rules allowing close public access to the cages. A worker said the lions had not been fed for days.

Mountie Charged With Second Degree Murder

Const. Mike Ferguson a 19 year RCMP veteran appeared in Lethbridge court on Monday entering no plea. He was released on recognizance with pay suspended and will return May 1. Darren Varley 26 was shot in the head during a struggle at Pincher Creek detachment on Oct 4 1999. The investigation led by Calgary Major Crimes and reviewed by Saskatoon Crown, with charges laid despite family relief.
