Esposito to undergo knee surgery after playoff injury
Centre Phil Esposito of the Boston Bruins said he expects to be operated on today for torn cartilage after a 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers. Doctors estimate a 75 percent chance of surgery with a long cast. he could be in a leg cast for six to eight weeks depending on the procedure. The injury occurred in the third period when Ted Harris checked him.
