Refund for liquor bottles proposed
CALGARY CP Amendments making wine and liquor bottles refundable will be introduced in the legislature next week. Ken Simpson, the engineer administering the Alberta Beverage Containers Act, said Thursday. Methods of collecting soft drink container refunds would also be affected. He declined to reveal the rules but Coca Cola Ltd and Pepsi Cola Ltd, not in the depot system, will be involved. Another amendment would require soft drink firms to give refunds on cans from vending machines. Deposits are not required when beverages are consumed where sold but this was intended for lunch rooms and cafeterias.
