175th Recruits Enter Three New Men and Farewell Events
The 175th recruits three men this morning two from the city and one from Alderson. Typhoid inoculations were given to many. Private 696357 C Hawkshaw of D Company was struck off and died in hospital. a service with honors followed. Sergt Instructor Sampson leaves city after farewell at S. O. B. hall with a presentation. Recruits include C E H Johnson an Imperial Yeomanry veteran and two others S W Caller and W Spearman from Alderson. Johnson served 1 1/2 years with the Imperial Yeomanry and a year with the Second Middlesex Volunteers.
