Electricity cap trims Medicine Hat power bills in April
A provincial price cap limits residential and small business electricity to 6.8 cents per kWh in April in Medicine Hat, with the difference funded from carbon levy revenue. The cap follows two coal plant mothballings and is part of a reimbursement plan between the province and the city. Natural gas remains low at 2.082 per gigajoule as April bills reflect the cap and expected May rates.
