Former Shatter girl weds Bakersfield manSuzanne Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, formerly of Shaf ter now of Bakers- • field, became the bride of Jim L. Hudson of Bakersfield in a double ring ceremony performed in the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church on August 16.Her father gave her in marriage.An uncle of the bridegroom, the Rev. C. Mel-vi n Sudderth of San Fran-cisco Trinity Methodist Church, assisted the Rev. Alonzo Heath of the Bakersfield Rescue Mission with the morning rites in the presence of 150 guests.Mrs. Gordon Wiebe of Reed ley sang “Oh, Master, Let Us Walk with You,” with the organ accompaniment provided by Dennis Gaede. Other musical numbers included “Trumpet Voluntary*' and “Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring.’The bride’s gown, styled and hand embroidered by her sister, Nona Johnson, was an empire style of polyester with crewel embroidery on the bottom of the skirt and around the neckline. Her veil and train, floor length off white tule netting edged in lace, was the same one worn by her mother for her wedding. She carried a cascade of white baby roses, white stephanotisandivy.set to speaknoon.Noon luncheon meetings are at the Veterans Hall each Thursday and breakfast meetings are each Wednesday at the S iafter Motel at 6:45 a.n. Armstrong said meetings are open to all men and no special invitation is needed.Kathy Bringol of Wichita, Kansas, was maid of honor. Her floor length gown was a polyester crepe in mint green and her bouquet was a cluster of pink baby roses and small lavender carnations.Bridesmaids, Nona Johnson, sister of the bride, of Fresno and Ruth Gleckler of Long Beach, w ere dressed identical to the maid of honor and their flowers were also the same.Mrs. Julia Click, sister of the bride, of Janesville, Wisconsin, attended the guest book, while Jennifer Johnson, the bride’s niece, was flower girl. Their dresses were light green flowered pinafores.Attendants of the bridegroom were Jim Bynum, best man, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Kenneth Johnson, brother of the bride, and Roger Becker, ushers.Martha Fall, Shirley Worthy and Geraldine W or thy w ere hostesses at a luncheon reception which followed in the fellow church.The newlyweds honeymooned in California City, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco* The bride chose a blue green polyester knit dress and matching jacket „ as her traveling costume. They are now at home in Bakersfield where the bridegroom is employed by Perry’s Restaurants.' The bridegroom, son of Mrs. Fred C. Vel-lettee of Bryan, Texas, received his education in Bovina, Texas.
