PENNEL-SCHITTGRUND WEDDINGGladiolas, palms, and candlelight set the scene for the afternoon wedding of Karen Pennell and Gary Schnittgrund. The couple was united In marriage Sunday, August 21 at the Memorial Christian Church in Marshall.The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Wayne Pennell of Marshall, and the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs. Ervin Schmittgrund of Rock Island, Illinois.Rev. Harold Merritt of Hindsboro, Illinois, conducted the double ring ceremony with Rev Charles Fassan offering the prayer Miss Bemelce Browman was the organist Mrs. Ronald'l£intz sang, A Time For Us” before the ceremony and ‘'The Wedding Prayer*’ during the ceremony.Miss Norma Atkison, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. Miss Mitchell Blundell and Mrs. Don Burns wera bridesmaids. Miss Michel! Blundell and Mrs. Don Burns were brides-mais. Miss Johnanna Pennell, niece of the bride, was the flower girl, and Wade Pennell, nephew of the bride, the ring bearer, Larry Katter, brother of the groom, was best man. Grooms-were Darrell Stebel of Moline, Bland Jim Keifer of Normal. Bl. Larry Tennell. bother of the bride, George Conway of Rock Island, James Brown and Jerry Jackson were ushers.The bride chose a floor length gown of all imported silk organza and Venise lace. Styled with short sleeves, high neckline, the Venise lacebodire was outlined by satin ribbon. The attached circular chapel train was outlined in satin ribbon topped with Venise lace Her Juliet cap was of ail matching Venise lace and secured her bouffant '«ilk illusion veiling She carried a bouquet of white roses. The attendants wore matching gowns of light green jackets styled with empire A-Pne skirts and roll collars. White Venise lace with light green centers ‘accented the dress front and the de-• tachable back paneL The light-gren jarkarta bow headpieces had long streamers accented with white Venise lace Each carrcd a eolonal bouquet of white roses and pink daises. The flower girl wore a dress idential to the ^attendant’s dresses. She carred a basket of white pink and green petals. ( Mrs. Charles Fassan was at the guest book, and Miss Cindy Katter, neice of the groom* handed rice bags to*the guests ,Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Colonial Kitchen Assisting were Mrs. Larry Pennell, sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Tom Iverson of Champaign. and Mrs. Delos Peiper of Collinsville1 Mrs. Harold Merrick of Hindsboro and Miss Carol Ferdinandsen. cousin of the bride, were at the gift table.I After a trip to the east coast, the t couple will be at home in Champaign, where both are attending the University of Blinols.ii
