Married At f(etcherMethodistMR. AND MRS. ROY BLESSINGERRoy Blessinger Weds Miss Jams PetryMiss Janis Kay Petry, daughter of Mr- and Mrs. Quentin Petry of Carthage R- R. 1, became the bride of Roy E. Blessinger, Friday evening, September 2, 1966 at 7:30p. m., at the Fletcher Methodist Church, Carthage, in a double ringceremony.The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Margaret Blessinger of Rush-ville and the late Mr. Roy Blessinger.The Rev. Stanley Palicki read the nuptial vows before an altar setting of two baskets of white gladiolas with pink mums and twoseven branch candlelabras with white candles.The bride given in marriage by her father was lovely in a floor length wedding gown of white silk organza and lace with a lace top and long sleeves erf lace ending in bridal points over the hands. The gown was fashioned with a full skirt and an overskirt trimmed in lace- She wore a headpiece of roses and pearls and a shoulder length veil. She wore a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom,and carried a white bible topped with cymbidium orchids and white mums.Lynn Kennedy of Carthage and Ball State University was organist.Miss Marsha Magee of Carthage was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Evelyn Petry of Indianapolis and Karen Petry of Carthage, sisters of the bride. Theywore floor length gowns of pink silk crepe designed with empire waist, and a bodice of pink lace and pearls, and had matching pink head pieces. Each attendant carried long stemmed pink roses, accented with dark pink streamers.Miss Kathy Heim registered thewedding guests.Mike Whitfield of Carthage was' best man for the bridegroom. jThe guests were ushered to their seats by James Zimmerman and Larry Bash, both of Carthage.Mrs. Petry wore a pink silkjersey dress and black accessories for her daughter’s wedding and her corsage was a cymbidium orchid with pink carnations and dark pink ribbons.The bridegroom’s mother wore a royal blue suit, black accessories, and wore an orchid carnation corsage trimmed light pink ribbon.Following the wedding, a tion was held in the church annex. The serving table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake, frosted in white and decorated with white and pink flowers of frosting.The bride is a graduate of Carthage High School class of 1966 and is employed with the State Insurance at Indianapolis. Mr. Blessinger also graduated from Carthage High School in 1965. He is employed with Western Electric Co. of Indianapolis.The newly weds are at home to their friends at 527 East Main St., Greenfield, Indiana..
