Mark 50th anniversaryMr. and Mrs. Stewart Arundale of Serena celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 26, at the Lisbon Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lisbon. Approximately 300 friends and relatives gathered from surrounding communities and Denver, Colo, to extend congratulations to the couple. Three long distance phone calls were received during the day from friends in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and California.A program was given with Mrs. Rolf Anderson singing two solos. The Rev. Ralph Chelsen gave a short talk.Stewart Arundale and Fern Cunningham were marriedHospital NewsSept. 29. 1921 in Joliet by the Rev. Thomas Gale. They farmed near Lisbon Center for 15 years, after which time Mr. Arundale was an implement dealer in Sheridan for 17 years, retiring in 1957. They now reside in a country home near Serena.Their only son. S-Sgt. Gerald Arundale, serving w.th the Army Air Corps, was listed as missing in action over Iwo Jima on May 4, 1945.Assisting at the serving table were the couples sisters, Mrs. Gay Lee, Mrs. Wunder Budd, Miss Grace Arundale, also nephew and nieces, Mr. and Mrs Claude Heap, Mrs. James Heap, Mrs. Ronald Heap, Mrs. George Heap, Mrs. Duane Wolf, Mrs. Sergio Scali and Mrs. Harry Larson.
