Tregoning addressesRotarians onJoseph Tregoning lt;R-Shullsburg; spoke on the state budget and tax redistribution to members of the Monroe RotarvwClub during their Tuesday noon meeting in the Idle Hour-Mansion.Tregoning noted that this is the first time the budget has been presented in three parts — the University of Wisconsin merger, the tax redistribution and the budget itself. He said this budget represents a 26 percent increase over the last, stated that Monroe will lose $115,000 in the redistribution of tax money.Tregoning also discussed the consumer protection bill now being debated. He was introduced by Lowell Stuessy, program chairman.A Guest Day was observed with 35 members and guests attending. Guests were Homer Tackett, Michael Meythaler,TuesdaySteve Grusy and Harold Palmer.William H e n q u i n e t, president, presided. Members approved a donation for the Symphony of the Hills concert. A report on the travelogue was presented by Walter Bober.Members were reminded that Rural-Urban Night will be observed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Idle Hour Mansion. They are asked to bring a farmer as a guest.Dance slatedThe Monroe Stateline Squares members are sponsoring a square dance Sunday from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the Monroe Turner Hall. Cal Brazier, the “singing auctioneer.-' will call. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend.
