R, CHAPTERMiss Audrey Chaney was reelected regent of the Kings Highway Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at its meeting held Saturday afternoon, May 10, at the hme of Mrs. Miles T„ Lee at Charleston.Other officers were elected as follows: vice-regent, Mrs. E. P. Crowe; registrar, Miss Isabeil Hess; recording secretary, Mrs. A. J- Renner; corresponding secretary, Miss Lydia Chaney; treasurer, Miss Adilda McCord; historian, Mrs. C, A. Cook; chaplain, Mrs. Kate Harris; librarian, Miss Alma Harris; custodian, Mrs.G. P. Van Arsdale Sr., and parliamentarian, Mrs. G. W. Clark.Mrs E. H. Percy and Mrs, Miles T. Lee were appointed as .directors.S1KESTOX TEACHER TOBE MARRIED JUNE 7Announcement has been made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Kathleen Newsum, Sikes ton high school commercial instructor, to HarryH. Bock, attorney of New Madrid.The marriage will take place at the New Madrid Catholic Church at 8 o'clock Saturday, June 7, with Rev. Walter A. Risek, pastor of the church, officiating.Miss Newsum will be attended by her sister, Miss Adele Newsum of New Madrid, as maid of honor. Her bridesmaid will be her cousin, Miss Martha Newsum.Best man. will be Charles Bock Jr., brother of the groom. Ushers will be Charles Newsum and Lynn Newsum Jr.Miss Newsum, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Newsum of New Madrid, has taught in the Sikeston schools for the past year. Mr. Bock is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Bock of New Madrid.Following the wedding, there will be a breakfast for the wedding party at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Milton Mann.
