The bride is the eldeet daughter of Mr. and Mr*. J. Hancock, Jr., former well known residents of Eureka, and left here a boot a year ago to join her mother, who was residiug io Reno. Miss Hanoock was born and grew to womanhood iu Eureka, and has a host of friends here who will join in congratulations and best wishes to the newly wedded oonple. The following acoount of the marriage is taken from Monday’s Gazette:William Lawson, the young man who oonducts the cigar store at the Riverside Hotel and is aide de-camp to Captain H. J. Gosse, on 9aturday evening claimed Miss Geraldine Haooook, a prominent yonog lady of this city, as his bride. They were married without any one at the Riverside but Captain Gosse knowing anything about it, and consequently Billy” and his bride got away from the city without being annoyed by his numerous friends.Waiting uutil late in the afternoon Mr. Lawson went to the clerk's offloe and secured his marriage lioense and then, acoompauied by Captain Gosse and Miss Hanoock, he went to the Episcopal reotory where Rev. Samuel Uusworth of the Trinity Episcopal ohnroh spoke the words that made Mr. Lawson and Miss Hancock man and wife.
