XUDorothy BergsrudMarried to Clifford MathiasMiss Dorothy Louise Bergsrud who chose traditional ivory satin for her wedding gown, was married to Clifford C. Mathias, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mathias, 820 W. Wabasha St., June 21 at 8 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Morris Bergsrud, 565 Lake Boulevard.The Rev. Allen Flohr performed the ceremony at McKinley Methodist Church where tall white candles marked the center aisle and deep red and pale pink peonies Were used with palms as a background at the altar. Miss Faye Prigge, Stockton, sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”The bride was attended by Miss Annabelle Bergsrud as maid of honor and Miss Mary Darling, Vermont, 111., as bridesmaid. Geraldine Schively was junior bridesmaid and Joan Beth Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Carpenter, Homer, flower girl. Or-dell Mindrum, son of Mrs. Otto Mindrum, was ringbearer.Duane Mathias served as best man and Thomas Miner and Gilbert Bergsrud ushered.The bride’s gown was designed with sweetheart neckline and full j skirt ending in a train. Her veil of i ivory nylon tulle was gathered to I a tiara of lilies of the valley and mock orange blossoms. She carried a white Bible on which were roses S showered with ribbon.The bridal attendants’ gowns i uere made alike with fitted bod-1 j ices and circular skirts, Miss , Bergsrud’s in yellow, Miss Dar-| ling’s in orchid and Miss Schive-ly’s in aqua. Their headdresses were of ruffled tulle and matching ’ flowers; ;A reception was held in the church parlors where peonies and j mock orange blossoms were used | as decorations. For travel, the ’ bride wore an aqua suit and white j accessories.The couple after a wedding trip ! to the Twin Cities, will live at 815’-s W. Wabasha St. Both attend- j ed Winona Senior High School and j Winona State Teachers College. The bridegroom, still a student at the college, also is employed at an oil station.The wedding rehearsal was held . last Friday evening at the church.1 Showers were given for the bride-to-be by Mrs. Maxwell Carpenter , and Mrs. Arnold Arnisen at the former's home in Homer and by Mrs. Otto Mindrum and Miss Loretta Mathias at the former’s home here.Mr. And Mrs. Clifford C. Mathias who were married at McKinley Methodist Church June 21, will make their' home at 815V2 W. Wabasha St., following their wedding trip to the Twin Cities.Mrs. Mathias is the former Dorothy Louise Bergsrud, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bergsrud, 565 Lake Blvd. (Haefner photo)
