Centenary Methodist Is Scene of Recent WeddingCentenary Methodist Church was the scene Friday, June 2, of the marriage of Sharon De-Weese to Wayne Rogers. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lester DeWeese of 304 W. 20th. The groom’s parents are Mr. and rs. Worthy Rogers of 754 Elm.Baskets of white gladiolli and yellow carnations served as background for the double ring service performed by Rev. Eugene Connely. Jon Drury was organist and Glenn Colburn wasvocalist. He sang “0 PerfectLove” as the couple knelt at the altarI,Mark DeWeese and Ronnie DeWeese, brothers of the bride, lighted the candles.The bride, escorted by her father, chose a floor-length gown of crepe designed with a scoop neckline and capped sleeves. From its empire waistline, the dress flowed into an A-line skirt and ended in a short sweep train, which was attached at the shoulders. Her shoulder length veil of imported illusion was held by a pillbox-type hat. She carried a white Bible with an arrangement of white carnations.50,;’S.Mrs. Sharon Chaney, sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Sandra Joice and Sonjia Eilts were bridesmaids. Their dresses of pale yellow bonded lace were of street length and styled like that of the bride. Their head pieces were of yel low tulle. Each carried a colonial arrangement of white carnations.Julie Brubeck, cousin of the bridegroom, was the flower gir and Mark Chaney, nephew o the bridegroom, was ring bear cr.Jim Flory acted as best man and Don Chaney, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Dary Stine acted as groomsmen. Each of their corsages, was of white carnations.The reception followed in Fellowship Hall of the church and carried out the color theme of yellow and white. The bride’s cake was topped with bride and groom dolls that were used on the cake of her great-grandmother and grandfather.Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Norma DeWeeese, aunt of the bride; Carol Dicker, Sylvia Kampschroeder and Pam DeWeese.For her traveling outfit, the bride chose a beige linen dress and beige accessories. Her corsage was from her bouquet.The couple is now at home at 32G Locust.
