Welch)Music Box Plays:Welch-Barbour Vows Said In Ranch Patio SettingA music 1ms 100 years old played “Here Comes the Bride’1 when Claudia Welch was married May 27 in the patio at the Ridgewood Ranch 'home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Welch, to Robert Bartbour of Santa Barbara. And when the Rev. Malcolm Stewart, rector of Ukiah’s Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, pronounced them man and wife, the music box, a prized antique belonging to the bride's aunt Mrs. Jeff Welch of Ridgewood Ranch, played the traditional recessional in tinkling precision.For the 4 o’clock; double-ring ceremony there was a banked background of ferns and greenery starred with chrysanthemums and carnations which were arranged as Intertwined hearts. Ribbon-tied baskets of azaleas defined this altar in the ,patiio.Batiste FrockWalking in with her father, Claudia wore a garden wedding frock of white eyelet batiste with bouffant, waltz-Iength skint, square neckline and brief sleeves. She had mitts of the embroidered batiste and the little crown from which her elbow-1 ength veil was arranged was also of the eyelet batiste. Her flowers were white orchids and stepha-notis.'Her bridesmaid — Martha Jane Boyer of John Day, Ore., her former roommate at St. Helen’s Hall, (Portland, Ore. — was in pink batiste with pink net hatlct and carried an old-fashioned nosegay of pastel-colored daisies.The best man was Jerry Crook of Santa Baiibara, boyhood friend of the bridegroom.Reception In HouseThe bride’s young cousin Debbie AJwen, daughter of the Arthur Al-wens of U'kiah, was the flower girl, wearing' a pale blue tKiuffant dress and daisies in her hair. She carried a (little 'basket of flowers.Miss Edith Barbour of Santa Barbara, aunt of the bridegi-oom, attended and his father -lack L. Barbour, flew from New Orleans to ba present for the ceremony.Both Mrs. Elwood Welch, the bride’s mother, and Miss Barlxmr who reared the bridegroom, wore pale blue costumes and had orchid corsages.The wedding reception was in the spacious living ‘ room of the big ranch house and the bride’s cake was served in the dining room from a handsome iace-covereri table where pink candles woe used, and gardenias were in a garlund about the cake. , iAmong those assisting were Miss ] Ir-ma Wauchope of Klamath Falls,Ore. a maternal aunt of the bride, and Miss Linda Corbett of Boise, Ida,, a school friend of the bride. Tamara Moore, the bride's cousin, daughter of Larry Moores of Ukiah, had charge of the guest book.About 75 guests witnessed the wedding and said godspeed to the newlyweds who left for San Francisco and Carmel before going to their new home at 607 S. Canon Perdido, Santa Barbara.Going away the bride wore a beige suit with pink accessories, a flower hat and orchid corsage. Gates I open at G p.m. on June 30 and close at 10 p.m. Hours for succeeding days are from 10 a.m. to 1(1 p.m.Sunday School Holds PicnicChildren of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Sunday school were treated to a picnic Monday from 10:30 to 1 o’clock in the city park and 50 students of the school were treated to what is takes to make a successful outdoor party for youngsters.The picnic was under the supervision of Mrs. Merle Orchard, .the school superintendent, who was assisted by Mrs, P.M. Stewart, wife of the rector. The day marked the end of the current term.Extra interest was added when .it was found that the day was the (birthday of three of the students — Carolyn Copeland, who was three years old; Dana Saunders, who was five, and Judy Clarke. 13. They had birthday cake and a “Happy Birthday song.
