Powers Jr. of Hoosick Falls, became the bride of Daniel Albert Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthir E. Smith Jr. of North Petersburg, at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Hoosick Falls.Officiating was the Rev. Donald Ammering, O.S.A., pastor, assisted by thebridegroom’s brother, David Smith. Mrs. Raleigh Tatro, organist, provided traditional music.Rebecca Powers was her sister’s maid of honor, and Richard Smith served as his brother’s best man.Bridemaids were Kathleen Van Der Kar, cousin of the bride; Catherine Pine and Nina Guerin. Pamela Powers was her sister’s flower girl. Ushers were Dennis Smith, brother of the bridegroom; Robert Hall and Fred King. Arthir Van Der Kar, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length empire gown designed in dotted Swiss. The bodice and Victorian sleeves were accented with Venice lace intertwined with baby blue satin ribbon. The mantilla veil was attached to a ruffled headpiece, bordered with matching Venice lace. She carried a white Bible with aGAIL M. AND DANIEL A. SMITHki id rickwhite orchied cascade of blue and white stephanotis and baby’s breath.A reception followed at Mt. Anthony Country Club in Bennington. Music was furnished by the Common Courtesy Band, and the guest book was passed by Jennifer Bakaitis.The couple then left on a wedding trip to WhitefaceMountain in northern New York. They are making their home in North Petersburg.Both are graduates of Hoosick Falls Central School, the bride in 1974, the bridegroom in 1970. The bride is employed by the Friendy Ice Cream Corp. in Bennington, and the bridegroom is engaged in farming with his grandfather in North Petersbirg.
