The bride is (the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Laverne Harness of Orono, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr.. and Mrs. Lloyd Horner of Oshawa.Baskets of pink peonies and orange blossoms formed the floral setting and white satin bows designated the pews.the Rev. S. R. Henderson, B.A,, B.D, The cereimony was performed by Mr. R. G. Harle played the wedding music and Miss' Amy T. Sargeant, of Oshawa, sang “0 Promise Me” before the oeremony and “Because” during the signing of the register.Given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Thomas Harness, the bride wore a floor-length gown of white net over satin. The low round neck-line styled itihe lace bodice. A headdress of net and seed pearls held her finger tip veil and she carried a white bible crested with pink roses with long streamers krtotted with rose buds. Her onJly jewellery was a pearl and rhinestone necklace, the gift of the bridegroom..The matron of honor, Mrs. Thomas Harness, sister-in4aw of the bride, was gowned in turquoise taffeta. The senior bridesmaid, Miss Jean Harness, sister of the bride, was in pink and the junior bridesmaid, Miss Vera Horner, only sister of the bridegroom,, was in yellow. All wore Pleated head-dresses and mittens ‘to match their gowns, and carried nosegays of carnation's and sweet peas. Mr. Doanld T. Homer of Hallifax, was best man for his brother. The ushers were Mr. Everett Harness, brother of the bride, and Mr, Cecil Williams, Oshawa.The reception was held in the Balmoral Hotel, Bowmanviile. To receive the guests the bride’s mother chose a cedar rose crepe dress with navy accessories. _ The’bridegroom’s mother, who assisted, was wearing navy blue sheer with grey accessories, and both wore corsages of carnations and sweet peas. The bride’s table, which was decorated with vases of flowers, was centred with a three-tier wedding cake nested in tulle and flanked with pink tapers, Mixed flowers and pink and white ribbon decorated the tables of the guests.For the wedding,, trip by motor to North Bay, Algonquin Park and points north, the bride donned a pink crepe dress and navy blue accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Horner will reside in Oshawa.The (bride’s gift to her senior attendants were compacts; to her junior attendant a silver bracelet. The bridegroom’s gifts to the best man and ushers were cuff links. Before leaving (the bride threw her bouquet which was caught by Miss Eleanor Green of Orono.Out of town guests were, Miss Esther Sunquist of North Bav; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sands of Leaside; Mr. iMervyn Harness, R.C.A.F., Cen-traiia, Ont., and Mr. and Mrs1. Walter Hornby of Trenton.Prior to- her marriage she was given three showers in Oshawa, also one in Orono, and received lovely gifts from her many friends.
