Page 6.— THE ECHO - Wednesday, July 16th, 1986Skayman-Koepke exchange vowsHAMIOTA — Hamiota United Church was the scene of a lovely double ring ceremony on June 21st, 1986 at 3:30 p.m., when Sharon Elaine, daughter of Russ and Janice Skayman of Hamiota, exchanged vows with Michael John, son of Agnes Koepke and the late Fred Koepke of Owen Sound, Ontario. Rev. Dawn Ballantine-Dickson officiated.Nancy Horobetz was pianist and Scott Anderson was the soloist, both friends of the bride.The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and the couple were given in marriage by their parents.“Annie's Song*' was sung following the processional. During the signing of the register Scott sang Endless Love and Let It Be Me.The bride wore a floor length gown of organza chiffon featuring a fine netted yoke with lace appliques and seed pearls. A lace ruffle around the yoke, front and back, completed the fitted bodice. The sleeves were sheer organza, leg o mutton style, trimmed with rows of narrow satin ribbon, narrowing to fitted cuffs. The full skirt, trimmed with satin ribbon and lace ruffles, fell into a lovely cathedral train. Sharon wore a hat covered in fine netting and seed pearls with a waist length veil. She carried a bouquet of pink throated cymbidiums, pink roses and baby’s breath.The groon looked handsome in a black tuxedo with white shirt, black bow tie and cummerbund. His boutonniere was a white carnation centered with a pink rosebud. ,The matron of honor was Gwenda Skayman, sister-in-law of the bride; bridesmaids were Jeannine Skayman, sister-in-law of the bride and Barb Putz, sister of the groom. They wore pink floor length dresses of sheer organza featuring a high neck, fitted bodice with lace yoke and deep sheer organza lace trimmed ruffle outlining the yoke, front and back. The full skirt was bordered by a deep ruffle of the tame material and was bustled at the back for the dance to match the bride’s gown. A pink satin ribbon tied at the waist completed their dresses. The girls wore sorabs covered with pink silk roses and baby’s breath in their bair and carried colonial bouquets )f white cymbidiums with pink rod white elegance carnations.Paul Koepke, brother of the groom, was best man. Srroomsmen were Dallas Skayman, brother of the bride, rod Ric Putz, brother-in-law of die groom. All three wore matching silver grey tuxedos with white shirts, dusty rose bow ties rod cummberbunds. Their boutonnieres were pink tipped carnations.Murray Skayman, brother of the bride, and Bill Gardham, friend of the bride, were ushers. Hie wore dress suits with white carnation boutonnieres.The mother of the bride wore itreet length dress of light blueISSKiNfte MQtlNfc.wore a street length dress of dusty rose gorgette. Their corsages were white cymbidiums with pink and white elegance carnations.The reception, followed by a dance, was held in the Hamiota Community Centre. The guest book was attended/by Heather McCharles and Brenda Vickery, friends of the bride.Dallas Skayman acted as master of ceremonies for the evening.Eunice Dickinson, aunt of the bride, proposed a most touching and humorous toast to the bride to which the groom capably responded.Tom Young of Holland, Manitoba, great uncle of the bride, asked the blessing which was followed by a most deliciousmeal served by Unit 7 of the Hamiota U.C.W. Several telegrams were read, one being from Ken and SharonRosenbergeer, unde and aunt of the bride, of Salmon Arm, BC.The first dance was Tonight I Celebrate My Love, sung by Scott Anderson and accompanied by Nancy Horobetz. Brian flew from there and visited his uncle in Prince Edward Island. While there he did a lot of sight-seeing and saw the play Anne of Green Gables.Mr. and Mrs. Ken Walsh. Winnipeg, MB, spent this weekend with Ron and Beverly Coveney.Mr. and Mrs. Victor Cornish, Rapid City, MB, and Mr. Bert Lawrence, visited with Ivan and Lena Lawrence on Monday.Chris Dougall of Russell, MB has returned home after holidaying with his aunt and uncle David and Sherry Lawrence.Members of the Crandall and Oak River congregations, the W.I. members and visitors en-. joyed Jaat Sunday a. visit* Thus*.attending church in the morning picniced at noon at the Eternal Springs site (very pretty place} and later joined the others for the tour through Mr. Ab Chapman’s museum near Rivers, MB.
