Page 2 Shafter Press Wednesday, July 3, 1974DonatctFinctiay weds FAiisDorma^lecklerThe Mennonite Brethren Church of Shafter was the setting for the May 4 wedding of Donna Gleckler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gleckler of Shafter, and Donald Findlay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Findlay,of Brampton Ontario, Cana-d a.- Past or Henry HaTdei* performed the double ring ceremony with organ music by Mrs. Doris Unruh and sdngs by Mr. and Mrs/ Lowell Bergman.The bride, escorted -dow n the ais le by her father, wore a white gown of dacron organza, by Elegant© Bridals of New York. Designed in an empire silhouette. with short puffed sleeves, high neckline and attached chapel train, the gown featured a Schiffli embroidered princess panel down the front of the bodice and skirt. The bride’s colors of mint green and yellow were reflected in her cascading bouquet of yellow and white roses, yellow and white daisies and baby’s breath.The bride’s sister, Ruth Gleckler, served as maid of honor, wearing a long flowered yellow princess styled gown with a matching yellow hat accented with a silk yellow ribbon. Bridesmaids were Linda Curry, of Shafter, and Bonnie Osborn, of Bakersfield. Their gowns were styled similar to that of the maid of honor except in the colors of blue and pink. All three attendants carried cascade shaped bouquets with roses and daisies to accent and match the color of their dresses.Candle lighters and guest book attendants were Phyllis Mendenhall of Sunnyvale and Elaine Compagnoni of Bakersfield, wearing yellow gowns similar to the bridal attendants, with matching hats. Both girls wore wrist bouquets of yellow roses.The bridegroom’s father served a s best man with his brothers, Dale and Dave, as groomsmen. The groomsmen’s shirts were in colors to match the color of the dresses of the girls they escorted. Ushers were Dale Sobey and Larry Menary of TorMR. AND MRS. DONALD FINDLAYonto, Ontario Canada, and Dave Bittle of Shafter.A reception followed in the church social hall, with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gloeckler and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gloeckler hosting the affair.The bride’s mother wore a mint green floor length gown covered with antique satin lace. The groom’s mother wore a shrimp colored floor length gowb. Both mothers wore white rose corsages.The church was decorated with green and yellow bows on the pews. Twin spiraling candelabrum with white candles and white baskets of white and yellow roses with white .tbows and small white wedding bells. The piano held a bouquet of white and yellow roses and daisies, with a smaller version in the foyer of the church.Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Findlay with Dale and Dave, from Brampton, Ontario Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ceasers of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dale Sobey and Larry Menary of Toronto, Ontario Canada.The bride was graduated from Shafter High School and Bakersfield Junior College and was employed at the Bank of America. The bridegroom is a graduate of Sheridan College inBrampton Ontario Canada where he will be in business with his father training harness horses. Donna’s friends and coworkers of ' the* Shafter Bank of America, honored her with a dinner at the Rice Bowl in Bakersfield and presented her with gifts.Brum attends GSB conventionCharles H. Brannen of Shafter was in San Francisco attending a three day convention for Field Directors for General Business Services, Inc., a nationwide small business counseling firm with headquarters in Washington, D. C.Congresswoman Patsy Mink of Hawaii and Assistant Secretary of Commerce Henry Turner were principal speakers. GBS President Bernard Browning welcomed over 500 Field Directors to the conventioa which was held at San Francisco’s Hyatt Regency.Mr. Brannen provides recordkeeping, bookeep-ing, tax return preparation, tax advisory services and other management analysis services as a franchised Field Director for General Business Services in this area.
