C., to Mr. James Campbell Perrie of Washington, took place yesterday afternoon at Christ Church in Washington. The Rev. Edward Gabler, rector, performed the ceremony at 3 o’clock, which was followed by a reception for nearly 100 guests at the home of the bride. Before the ceremony Miss Margaret Stafford sang, accompanied at the organ by Miss Evelyn Price. Easter lilies and candles were placed on either side of the altar, wrhich was banked with palms and ferns.The bride wore a long French blue velvet gown made with short sleeves, a tight bodice and flared skirt. A small collar of Irish lace was the only trimming on the gown. She wore a turban of velvet to match and slippers of the same color and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds.Her only attendant was the bride’* sister, Mis* Dorothy M. Smith, who wore a long gow'n of wine velvet with a short-sleeved Jacket to match. She wore a turban to match and carried a bouquet of yellow* roses.Mr. Thomas Wilson of Washington was the best man and Mr. James Perrie, 3d, son of the bridegroom, and Mr. William Wilson acted as ushers.At the reception Mrs. Smith received the guests wearing an afternoon length gown of dubonnet crepe fashioned with plaiting and an embroidered belt and wore a corsage of orchids on her shoulder.Receiving and assisting with Mrs. Smith were the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Laura Perrie, who wore a gown of black velvet with a corsage of yellow orchids. Assisting in serving were Misses Mary and Nellie Riggles, aunts of the bride.Later in the afternoon the bridal couple left on a wedding trip, the bride having for her travelling costume a bright print dress with a black redin-gote, black coat and accessories. They will go on a motor trip through the South and will be at home after January 22 at 328 Eighth street 8.E.The bride is a graduate of Wilson Normal School and a member of Delta Phi Sigma Sorority.
