Smith - Miene Wedding_Miss Karle Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reider Smith of Ridgeway; ^beqtame the, bride of William Mi6he,;son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miene of Luana, in a double-ring ceremony performed by the Rev. I. M. Gpellatad of DecoTah at 7:30 p.m., January 30 in the First Lutheran Church, Decorah.The bride was attended by her sister, Inez Smith, as maid of honor, and Erma Jean Miene, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaid. Attending the bridegroom as best man was Harold Miene, brother of the bridegroom,and Robert Dotseth, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, served as groomsman. Debra Miene served as flower girl and Gordon Smith was ring-bearer.Nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Ransome Bolson, organist, and Mrs. Lavern Schlatter who sang “Wedding Prayer” and the Lord’s Prayer.Ushers were William Miene, lr„ and Harlan Welch.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white lace bodice, with long sleeves and, a net skirt over taffeta. Her shoulder-length veil fell from a pearl crown. She carried a prayer book centered with rose buds. A pearl necklace, gift of the bridegroom, completed her attire.The maid at honor wore a rose ballerina length dress of chiffon over taffeta, styled with a harem ] skint and a short, off the should-1 er jacket. The bridesmaid wore a turquoise dress identical to the j maid of honor. Each wore ai double string pearl necklace, gifts of the bride. Each carried a long stemmed white rose.The mother of the bride chose a blue and block sheath, dress with black accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore a rose and, black sheatfh and both had cor-j sages of white roses and pompom., Hie grandmothers wore corsages. of white pompons. [Grandparents at the bride are Mrs. Lillie Smith Of Decorah, and, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Buck of Hawkeye, and of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gilsonof Waufcon. A reception was held in the___cb basement for “200 guests. Dining room hostesses were Mrs. Ray Daniels, Evelyn Bumson, Helen Harold, Norma Brandt and Keren Larson. The wedding cake was oftttby Mrs. Clyde Malone of Aledo, 111., and Mrs. Harley Weit-enhagen of Hawkeye. Mrs. Robert Dotseth and Mrs. Harold Mime poured. Table waitresses were Rita Christofferson, Donna Rima, Aria Peterson and Joan Ludeking. Priscilla Meinen, Mar-lys Sinnoit and Jeon Richter were in charge of the gifts. Lorn; Daniels presided at the guest book.The bride has been employed at the Ben Franklin store at De-corah. The bridegroom is engaged in farming with his father. After a honeymoon to the southern states, they will make their home in Luana.
