E. church was the scene of a brilliant wedding, the contracting parlies being Miss Carrie Elma Stevens, daughter of B. G. Stevens, Esq., a prominent and wealthy merchant of Potter’s Landing, and Mr. William Crosby, of Houston, Texas. The nuptial ceremony was performed by the Itev. J. E. Smith at 8 o’clock, Messrs. J. E. Tylor, G. A, Deakyne and Howard Bryant being the efficient ushers. The sister of the bride presided at tbc organ, and greeted the bridal party with a beautiful wedding march. The bride, a charming blonde, was most becomingly and elegantly attired in strawberry-red satin skirt with plush basque trimmed with marabout fringe, and a hat to match the dress with terracotta trimmings; this wfns called a traveling suit. The groom wore a black walking suit. The ceremony over, the party with numerous friends repaired to the hospitable residence of the bride’s parents, where a sumptuous supper was prepared. Many friends called to congratulate the newly wedded pair, and the evening was spent In social enjoyment. The house was a scene of dazzling briUiauey, being illuminated from top t»» bottom, and the interior decorated with flowers. A number of flue presents were received by the bride, mostly silverware. She was the recipient of a valuable diamond set rom the groom.
