A wedding of interest to resi dents of the city and district was solemnized recently in Fifth Avenue United Church when Carole Ann Lyon became the bride of Randolph McCulloch. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lyon of Seven Persons and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McCulloch of Acme. Rev. W. J. Lane of Bow Is land performed the ceremony before an altar graced with yel low mums and white shasta daisies. Mrs. Jack Armstrong presided at the organ and ac companied Mrs. Joan Harris as she sang “O Perfect Love.” Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown of peau-de-soie adorned with insets of lace applique. The gown featured elbow-length sleeves and a matching train swirled at the hemline Her chapel veil pouffed from a jewelled headpiece and she car ried a bouquet of yellow roses and white shasta daisies. For jewellery she wore a gold locket, gift of the groom. Mrs. Pat Collins attended the bride as matron of honor with Rosalie Lawes serving as brides maid and Janet Lyon attending her sister as junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore identical sleeveless A-line gowns of dark green organza poised over blue crepe and styled with cowl necklines. They wore matching headbands and carried colonial bouquets of yellow roses and white carnations. The groom was attended by Dallas Paget and Michael Mc Culloch as best men with Ken Lyon and Miles McCulloch serv ing as ushers. Clarence Thurston proposed the toast to the bride at a recep tion held for 117 guests in the Elk’s Hall. A three - tiered wed ding cake topped with a minia ture bride and groom centred the bride’s table and was flank ed by lighted tapers. Mrs. McCulloch changed to a rose colored ensemble comple mented with beige accessories and a pink corsage, before she and her husband left on a honey moon to undisclosed points. On their return, the newlyweds will make their home in Calgary. Out of town guests were from Vancouver, B.C., Edmon ton, Calgary, Acme, Three Hills, Lethbridge, Bow Island and Seven Persons, MA.
