Salvation Army kettle kickoff and Christmas events set
Salvation Army Maple Creek leaders Lieutenants Brent and Amber Wareham announce a busy season beginning Saturday November 30 with a 9 am kettle kickoff and a free pancake breakfast. Volunteers are urged to join shifts at the church. December 7 brings Cowtown Christmas with a 10 am to 1 pm PJ Party, crafts, cookie decorating, ornament making, and Santa elves.

St Mary's Anglican Church eyes spring 2025 bell tower repair
The $70,000 project to repair St Mary’s Anglican Church bell tower may start in late spring 2025 with May or June as potential start months. Rev. Jesse Miller noted the work could take five days to two weeks, using off site steps before rebuilding the tower base. A roast beef fundraiser sold all 100 tickets, and a chimers concert plus slideshow by Charlie Pirie highlighted the project. The bell itself is sound, but the tower and steeple rot cause leaks indoors. Grants are sought, including a Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation grant covering up to half the cost.
